Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

25 Apr 2017 22:56:00
Henderson now on crutches, he's 100% out for the season. Harsh reality but he can't be relied upon, he's now missed 43 matches in the last 2 seasons. That's close to 50% of our matches for the last two seasons. Midfield is an area we need to address as him and Lallana are often injured.

Believable8 Unbelievable16

{Ed002's Note - Well the Liverpool way is to force them out with a hate campaign. I suggest starting with social media and then upping the ante with threats to their families. Maybe some sort of street attack and the good old abuse sprayed on the stadium. Rounded off by a Cessna 172 towing a banner over anfield.

Pathetic. As ever, zero support for anyone associated with the club.}

25 Apr 2017 23:19:48
Huh!

25 Apr 2017 23:23:45
Oh no, on crutches, feel so sorry for Hendo. he is our Captain and he is proud to be at Liverpool. Such a shame about his chronic injury problems. Henderson will be more frustrated then anyone that he's not getting game time.

Annoying, but it's not because his hearts not in it.

25 Apr 2017 23:35:47
Some reply that ed002.

25 Apr 2017 23:47:02
Ed002, I'm just stating facts. I've obviously wrongly assumed that you are aware that football is a ruthless game and that LFC are obviously thinking about the future without hendo if these injuries persist. I'm not attacking hendo, I'm a big fan of us but I'm a realist. You can't have a regular starter and captain constantly injured. It's plain and simple, you must be very innocent to not understand my point, although with your latest outburst I'm beginning to think underwise.

{Ed002's Note - It is not an "outburst", it is simply a comment on the ongoing inability of an entire fanbase to support the players at the club, to trash everyone associated with the club and demand constant change. Liverpool will continue to be screwed id=f folks constantly desire transition, change etc.. Klopp is a decent manager but far, far from the world class manager you all seem to think he is. The players are a good bunch than need a little work but not the heart ripped out once or twice a year. If the supporters don't get on board - it gets no better.}

26 Apr 2017 04:52:58
It is unfortunate, but Henderson has missed plenty of matches in the near past with injuries and I think it is important LFC do get another midfielder with Lucas and Stewart expected to leave this summer.

26 Apr 2017 06:32:18
I cringe so much at people.

Proper wool stuff the plane though.

Cringy stuff.

26 Apr 2017 06:44:32
Well that escalated quickly. Nearly as quick as my Klopp out banner and my ruthless social media keyboard.

26 Apr 2017 02:45:22
ed02 your right about the mentality of the modern day Liverpool fan but on serious not do you know much about the injury is it same one that has been plaguing hendo or is it another.

{Ed002's Note - All the club has said is that he has a bruised foot.}

26 Apr 2017 06:12:58
It's not the "entire" fan base.

26 Apr 2017 08:48:43
No it's not Ron.

26 Apr 2017 08:54:23
I sentiment Rons post, always a minority that tar the majority, found at all clubs ed.

26 Apr 2017 09:05:34
The eternal defense of the criminally unsupportive - 'I'm just a realist'.

By the way, 43 games is not nearly 50% of matches. From the start of last season to today, we've had 110 games. that's not even 40% of matches.

26 Apr 2017 09:16:05
It's not fair to tarnish the entire Liverpool fan base with the same brush ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You are right, there may be a fan out there who isn't fickle.}

26 Apr 2017 09:25:00
Agreed Ron, it's not the entire fan base but sadly it does seem to be the most vocal section of our fan base.
I said for a long time we need stability and steady progress not constant change every time we face a set back.

26 Apr 2017 10:51:51
What good is a player that can only 50% of games. It's like a business having an employee that can only come in half the year. The difference being the player still gets paid the employee doesn't if he is not there. I certainly won't condone abuse off players but a bit like Sturridge a wage packet could be freed up for someone that can actually get on the pitch most off the time just not occasionally.

26 Apr 2017 11:09:54
Ed002 not an attack on u by any means but why not leave the lfc editing to the other eds if we annoy you so much.

{Ed002's Note - The Liverpool fans don't annoy me Mick - they are indeed the most fickle they do constantly attack the players, managers, directors, owners etc.; they have paid for banners; they have daubed abuse on the stadium. I think you will find what I said is factually correct. If that pains you so much I can easily have you removed from the site.}

26 Apr 2017 11:27:13
Never seen Ed002 post anything positive about Liverpool, at least he is consistent. Maybe the ghost goal is still raw with him i don't know. Maybe the fact that Chelsea are doing well he has to channel his anger through the Liverpool pages. It's a mystery.

{Ed002's Note - I assume then you don't want anymore information on transfer interest then? I happily give my time for nothing to give information to cretins like you. Perhaps you should be thankful.}

26 Apr 2017 12:00:17
please get off Ed02s back - without him no one would read the site except for a few die hards (or insert another noun) . just check out the Man Utd pages if you want to see that kind of future.

26 Apr 2017 12:07:35
I don't know why we are even having a discussion about Hendo.
He's our captain, he gives 100% every game, he is an example to his contemporaries.
He's injured, whilst giving 100% on the field for the club and for the fans.

Let's stop the nonsense attacks on injured players.
All this stuff about getting paid etc etc. I'll tell you something for free, if you get injured through an accident/ incident at work that leaves you unable to work - you will get payment. Some of these football injuries can result in long term injuries/ impairments. We won't hear about them when they're retired though.
Thank goodness social media wasn't around when Jamie Redknapp got injured.

26 Apr 2017 12:19:36
If you had a bad cold, wouldn't you get better quicker with help and support or someone down your neck every given hour? A fit Hendo is a player we miss atm, remember his red card in 2014 with 3 games to play, so the sooner we can get him back fit the better for me!

26 Apr 2017 12:33:06
Well said Ron. Hendo always gives the club 100% so he always gets my support 100% when he needs it most. Yep let's kick a player when he is down. If only the club had a mott, something catchy like er I dunno how about "you'll never walk alone" that sounds good! Not "you'll never walk alone, unless you are injured or hit a bad run of form then we will kick you whilst you're down"

26 Apr 2017 14:35:33
Look its simple really, Hendo is one of best players, in deed our captain, he gives 100 per cent every game, and when he is out, we miss him big time,
if he is fit, he plays, if he is not fit, we put some one in, if we have to buy a similar player to cover him, so be it, but when fit, he has to play, there will be plenty of games next season .

26 Apr 2017 15:33:57
I never get the ungrateful attitude of some people on here, as a long term reader and occasional poster on the site (back to when Harry was called Harry! ) and when macca had his own page. The site was about debate, discussion and getting information that we had no right having. We learnt quickly that Ed002 treated idiots and the ignorant with the deserved contempt and people with genuine questions and debate with respect and participated with the suitable retort. So don't complain when you post abuse or act like we have a right to this information and get a response that you don't like in return. If you get asked to use the search engine then use it, if you get asked to check another site then check it. Any information we get is a bonus, try checking the other pages when the ed's stop posting anything of value. Everyone gets apologetic very quick.

26 Apr 2017 13:27:30
As I said ed002 it wasn't an attack on yourself it was just a question about why you persist with lfc fans I don't see how that even warrants removal from the site. I really appreciate your responses by the way and find them very informative cheers.

26 Apr 2017 20:51:32
I like ed002 she's like Morpheus but the difference is she has red pills in both hands. would you really really want it any other way? I'm sure other sites do have blue pills available though.

{Ed001's Note - I am just amazed at the cheek of danray35, who does nothing but slag off the team and players, yet has the gall to accuse someone else of saying nothing positive. Some comments are just too stupid to be anything but laughable.}

27 Apr 2017 09:26:56
*post deleted for repetitive whining*

{Ed001's Note - just go away and stop being a tit. You are banned and I will be deleting this profile, you are no longer welcome as you do nothing but abuse everyone from the team, the manager to Ed002 and have nothing of value to add. You are the kind of moron that ruins social media for everyone, because you are a complete hypocrite, constantly abusing others for doing what you yourself do far more of. Please do not come back.}

25 Apr 2017 19:41:56
The OX is LFC bound and VVD is dependent on CL he's LFC's too loose.

Believable2 Unbelievable20

25 Apr 2017 19:50:04
Arsenal are about to offer him a new contract.

25 Apr 2017 19:52:06
Where's this come from Al?

25 Apr 2017 20:23:07
Champions league is huge for signing quality players, need to get it to progress.

25 Apr 2017 20:56:20
Sounds like klopps ready to get the war chest out.

26 Apr 2017 09:58:42
You can keep the Ox, don't see what the fuss is about and we have better already at the club.

26 Apr 2017 13:12:11
The Ox is one of those players who is just not being utilised well at his current club. I think he'd be a good signing for Klopp.

25 Apr 2017 19:39:58
Evening lads, just thought I'd throw my opinion in. I do make regular visits and try to be honest in what I post.

I still think your a certainty for top 4 this season. We still have City, Arsenal and Spurs away, and although we are an impressive 24 games unbeaten, we won't continue that imo. Obviously we also have the distraction of Europe which should now be our priority. You have 4 games left to prepare for, we have 8 if not 9 left. We also have a lot of injuries, the likes of Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Pogba, Ibra, Mata etc. You also have easier fixtures so I think it would be criminal if you didn't make top 4 from here. Having said that, I think although we're behind you in the league, we've overall had a better season, with winning the EFL and a chance of lifting the Europa. For Jose' first season I'm fairly happy. So many of the home games we dominated and ended up drawing cost us our league position this season. I think with another few top additions this summer we will have a really good go next year.

This season you've been able to consentrate and plan for PL matches usually with a week between games. Next war with European football you will find it harder imo, as will cheslea. I personally think we have a better squad than yourselves, and a manager who's tactically superior, and I'd be very surprised if we didn't finish above you next season.

This year tho, its you above us in 4th and 5th although I'd love to be proven wrong, I don't think I will be.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

25 Apr 2017 20:09:16
Fair assessment mate! Hope we nip you to fourth but if you get it only have ourselves to blame.

Would love to wish you best of luck but would be a lie, but do like the non biased assessment and the cross site banter. Also would love to know, think Ibra's proven his quality this season and breathed fresh air into the league with his charisma. But think his injury might be a blessing in disguise as although young think rashford could be ready to take starting role next season.

25 Apr 2017 20:40:31
UTD will get into the CL by winning the Europa league. They have what 3 games and two Tier 1 teams to play against.

25 Apr 2017 20:50:25
United should always be above Liverpool and its criminal that they aren't imo. We purchace Klavan, United buy Bailey, we buy Gini (who has done pretty well) and United fork out £90 million on Pogba. They also fork out top wages for Ibra. For that i would be looking top 4. Imagine if Klopp could buy those type of players and didn't get top 4! All hell would break lose on this page.

25 Apr 2017 21:14:25
Stand United is a decent lad. You're always welcome round here even if you're one of the mob down the road.

25 Apr 2017 21:20:28
Irish rover post of the year so far.

25 Apr 2017 21:20:40
Stand, united will spend 3 or4 times what we will spend in the summer, maybe another 90 million player, that's what united have done going back to the time you signed rooney, ferdinand, more or less buying your wins, so for the lesser teams who do much better on a very limited budget, they can and do have a better season sometimes for me .

25 Apr 2017 21:26:48
Ibra has been immense and I think having him even for one season will have done the likes or Rashford and Martial the world of good. But to be honest I think we're a better side without him and think he hinders our game. We are far more dangerous with either Rashford or Martial down the middle, pace and movement. I think both Rashford and Martial are immense talents. Having said that I would like ibra fit for the bench.

I also don't dismiss the three other sides left in Europa league. Yes we are the best side left in, no doubt about that. But Southampton aren't a better side than Liverpool and won over two legs. Anything can happen in cup competitions.

25 Apr 2017 22:09:47
Good honest assessment there Stand, I had a beer with one of my United mates at the weekend and our conversation centred on many of your points . We had a similar season last season with good runs in the league cup and Europa although City and Seville were probably tougher opposition than Southampton or Ajax/ Lyon . I do think you'll make the final maybe Ryan Babel will think otherwise lol. Your point about us having easier games in the run in I'm not so sure those are the kind of fixtures we seem to struggle in . Our silver lining could be the fact Arsenal City and United have to play each other.

25 Apr 2017 22:55:31
Stand - sounds a lot like Benteke tbh. Good player, dangerous goalscorer but to get the best out of him you have to sacrifice the best of half the squad.

26 Apr 2017 14:26:58
Surely that shows us that by buying the 11 best (dearest) players for their resective positions doesn't necessarily make the best team unit.

Klopp has done well so far in transfers/ value for money. This along with integrating some of the u23s into the first team has been very sucessful.

An overhall of the back 4 starting with lovren is what we should concentrate our efforts this year.

And though I hate to say it that unless Daniel Sturridge miraculously finds some consistent form then he should be replaced as well.

26 Apr 2017 17:45:23
Great post, Stand and you give a very intelligent assessment of affairs as they Stand (lol) . CL is ours to lose and if we do lose it and you or Arsenal get it via the PL then you would have deserved it and we would have bottled it, royally. We'll see what happens.

25 Apr 2017 16:59:19
klopp's attitude towards defending is questionable. He says the whole team should defend. Maybe, but some players' job title says 'defender'; they should be good at defending.

Believable15 Unbelievable3

25 Apr 2017 18:03:38
Maybe we should give Big Sam a go.

{Ed001's Note - Allardyce has used that quote himself before now.}

25 Apr 2017 19:04:25
As has been said 1000 times, set piece defending is very poor for a team that has ambitions of top 4, trophies and challenge for the league each year.

It's embarrassing how we can't seem to deal with a second ball and get caught so easily on the break. Matip and Lovren are ok but positioning can be poor.

We either play a different system to provide more support for our defence or buy defenders who are proven in playing a high line. I'd play more compact and hit teams on the break like Leicester did last year.

25 Apr 2017 19:41:08
It'd not Klopp fault that players make stupid errors on the pitch .

25 Apr 2017 19:43:19
Lots of managers have the same belief, hardly Klopp alone, the successful sides of 70s and 80s talked about defending starting from the attackers.

25 Apr 2017 19:51:50
Nice reply Statto. Very close to the reality. Highline with slow CB results in calamity.

25 Apr 2017 20:11:54
Are you watching the Chelsea -Southampton game 😏.

25 Apr 2017 20:44:08
I said it the other day but I think it's worth repeating.
Klopp could easily turn us into a boring defensive team scraping the odd 1-0 win. Poorer managers (Allardyce) than him do it regularly. Roy Hodgson tried to do it to us, that didn't end well.
That's not Klopp's style and we all knew it wasn't when he signed - "heavy metal football"?
What he's trying to do is balance the attacking, brilliant football that we can play with being a bit more defensive. It's a minor tweak, a delicate balance, but I back him to get it right long term in favour of short term dull boring football.
We will need to be patient though.

25 Apr 2017 21:19:38
Ron

It's no minor tweak. Barcelona has been a victim of playing and pressing high up the pitch. Leaves acres of space behind them for someone to exploit. We just don't have the right personal at the back to play this system. I did raise some concern on Matip's pace back in the summer but was quickly shut to bed by usual " Klopp couldn't be wrong " slogans. Klavan and Lovren lacks severe pace. How many times have us seen a decent winger beating Lovren on pace.
We also don't play with a stopper which makes it easy for opposition to run at our already slow CB's.

Why did Rafa played a deep defensive system? He has Carra, skrtel and Hyppia ( None has pace ) to play high up!

25 Apr 2017 22:30:51
Stopper? Were generally very good tacklers but usually slow. Not sure how that would stop players running at slow CBs - unless you are talking about having 3 man defence. But that raises a different set of issues and Im not sure a stopper would solve them.
Matip is quick - his issue is that he doesn't turn as quick as say a Cannavaro (but has a different skill set so not comparable)

In my opinion, biggest area our defence needs to improve on is communication and understanding which wold lead to better organisation.

26 Apr 2017 04:56:09
Quite obviously, LFC need an upgrade in defence in terms of recruitment and in defending. I think this is something Klopp needs to rectify in the summer.

Also, Rafa didn't play a deeper defending line because he had slow defenders, that is how he sets his teams out to play.

26 Apr 2017 08:31:32
Ed001 you implying that Sam tried to get the Liverpool job at one point? I always got the impression that he disliked Liverpool.

{Ed001's Note - what? No. Where on earth did you get that idea from?}

26 Apr 2017 10:44:25
To the original post - Football is a TEAM sport. Whilst I agree that it would be preferable to have a back line that had a) more pace and b) collectively more positional and game awareness it's very wrong to focus on the weaknesses of individuals.

26 Apr 2017 13:14:16
For my 2 cent on this one - it's very little to do with the balance of play. We've conceeded 7 goals this season from corners alone I believe (possibly 8), and in total set pieces are responsible for almost half our goals conceeded in the league. In those times we aren't being caught on the counter, we haven't having the space behind us exposed etc. We are all there, all in our pre-arranged position and all focused on the job of defending.

Granted no team will go all season without conceeding any goals from set peices. But cutting that choatic response to a ball dropping down, and the laziness in attacking it as it bounces in half would give us a gd that would be practically an extra point in the CL race (ignoring the effect it would have on our points) . And considering we'd still only be mid table in our set piece stats by doing that, it's hardly an impossible dream!

Our ability to defend set pieces left with Rafa. Someone, preferably a goalkeeper, needs to start taking charge of our defense in the moment and making sure that everyone there is fully committed to getting to those balls and knows what balls to attack. And from a coaching perspective, everyone needs to have their position and their responsibilities for the entire set piece drilled into them, and anyone who is making those half assed, back turned lunges towards the second ball gets a nice long spell on the bench as a reward for lack of commitment.

26 Apr 2017 17:51:16
Spot on, Hijkle. We no longer have the desire to be defensively sound anymore and this since carra left. Rafa actually focused on defending and getting us well drilled as a unit. That is what Klopp is trying to do BUT his job is two fold i. e, be defensively sound while playing attacking football.

This CAN be done as we have done it in some games BUT clearly not in enough of them to sustain good results. Ron's post touches on this so good job, Ron.

If we must make any defensive signings, we need to be rid of Klavan and especially the error prone Lovren, upgrade the FB's positions and get in a defensive coach to drill the players on the art of defending especially mentally. All this will lead to protecting the GK who should also take responsibility for organizing the defence.

25 Apr 2017 15:45:14
Not exactly Liverpool related but would apreciate your opinion Eds01/ 02, Gary Neville briefly discussed the possibility of some clubs moving their training grounds to London when discussing the shortage of northern clubs in the premier league as they might have a problem attracting players to move, if they move training facilities to London players and their family can live in London happily, but can then travel to their home stadium for their games like Anfield for example. Do you think this could work? I think its a very interesting strategy in terms of attracting players but I don't think it could work for a club like Liverpool.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, I don't see it happening. Clubs like Liverpool will continue to train in the grim, wet and cobbled streets of the Northwest of England where there is smog, dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street and only chips & fried curry to eat.}

25 Apr 2017 16:28:58
How would the promising youngsters manage, I mean we're moving the whole training process to one site now so that the kids are at the same venue as the 1st team aren't we. Clubs aren't NFL franchises, I do understand the principle of what he's saying, but it would be a sad, sad day if it ever happened. It certainly wouldn't be Liverpool fix any more, the players would have zero affinity with the city.
As a side note ed 2, we've recently had the flushing toilets installed up 'ere and I've even heard about some witchcraft called electricity coming our way.

25 Apr 2017 17:02:30
How difficult is it for a multi millionaire to travel from Liverpool to London?
It's an absolute load of nonsense that players only want to live in London. If London clubs all got relegated I'm sure the same players would instantly develop an attraction to dead/ dying pit pony cobbled streets.

Gary Neville is not an intelligent man, we should not be taking strategic advice from him.

25 Apr 2017 17:47:00
Ron

Your bang on nearly as good a reason as I won't champions league football.

CL football = bigger wages.

25 Apr 2017 17:43:03
We may eat chips and fried curry (don't no what the f##k that is like) have you ever been up North Ed out of curiosity.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, on many occasions I have crossed the Thames. I have been to High Wycombe, Henly, all sorts of places. You have to remember I was born in the Northwest as well.}

25 Apr 2017 18:59:10
👍👍 never new that Ed.

25 Apr 2017 19:53:49
North west USA ed? 😎.

{Ed002's Note - Yes Ron. Bellevue, WA.}

25 Apr 2017 20:42:17
If a player doesn't want to live local to the club then ultimately he doesn't want to be at the club and it shows their concerns are about outside things and not the football or the club. Why would you want to sign that player? Chances are they won't settle and won't perform until they're looking to get a deal elsewhere.

25 Apr 2017 20:47:08
really want some fried curry now, don't know what it is but I imagine it hits the spot after several pints too many.

{Ed025's Note - count me in mikey..

25 Apr 2017 22:20:13
Didnt Owen helicopter it to Newcastle daily? Wasn't exactly embraced by the fans. Then again, he was mainly injured and when on the field looked like he wanted to be injured.

25 Apr 2017 23:13:26
Ed.002 is forgetting tripe, black pudding - and of course a big bowl of scouse.

{Ed002's Note - I have never had any of them - I know black pudding is a blood based delicacy and I know that scouse is a stew made out of the previous days remains. Tripe is something I would need to look up but I have heard of it. I will try and work it in to future responses.}

26 Apr 2017 00:05:03
Was just an interesting topic lads not my opinion like I said I don't think it could work for a club like Liverpool. I am not slating the city in anyway just when he brought it up I though it could make good discussion for those as bored as I am at work with an hour to go till home.

26 Apr 2017 07:25:42
Can't beat a bit of pickled tripe - yummy 👌.

26 Apr 2017 13:20:03
Would be amusing seeing as most of the London club players don't even live in London - the vast majority live in Hertfordshire, Surrey and Kent. If they can travel from there to London clubs I'm sure Liverpool and Manchester based players can take their Bentleys and Ferraris 45 minutes from Wilmslow or Alderley Edge to training.

25 Apr 2017 14:46:04
Eds01/ 02 have we shown interest in Gibson from Middlesbrough? Sky Sports reckons he will leave them at the end of the season as they look as though they will be relegated?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is much interest in Ben Gibson but not from Liverpool - has the advantage of being home grown but his value for money is not seen by some at the club.}

25 Apr 2017 19:04:11
Gibson def has the defender title on his back, I would like him at anfield, also the Hull left back . both at a good fair price, prob both for under 40 million,

25 Apr 2017 11:43:49
So, I know this has nothing to do with Liverpool, ........

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Try the European pages please.}

25 Apr 2017 09:56:08
Questions Eds,

So when a player gets injured or banned for lengthy period of time, what happens to their wages? Because they can't be a benefit to the club if there out for 3+ months? Do they get deducted or will there be something in the contract they sign.

Thanks, :)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - They still get paid.}

25 Apr 2017 10:26:55
I'm assuming they don't get there bonuses Ed.

{Ed002's Note - What bonuses? It is case-by-case depending on their contracts.}

25 Apr 2017 12:43:19
Clubs can fine players up to two weeks wages for disciplinary issues which would include on field.

25 Apr 2017 19:45:14
Bit harsh, you've been injured as part of your job and we're going to stop your wages.

25 Apr 2017 05:20:23

Believable2 Unbelievable0

25 Apr 2017 02:13:33
I believe that if we win 3 of our remaining 4 games we will make top 4 as we will end the season with 75 points.
We have Watford, Southampton away, West Ham and Borro, so if we don’t win 3 that is completely on us.
I will show why I believe this will be enough by looking at our rivals (Man City, Man Utd, Everton and Arsenal) remaining games and where that would be expected to put them.
Man City-
Man City still have Man Utd, Borro, Palace, Leicester, West Brom and Watford. I would not be surprised if they dropped points in 3 of these games. they have been very poor this season and I would expect them to drop points in 2 games from Man Utd, Palace and Leicester. Because they have been poor I would also expect them to drop points in 1 of their other games. This would leave Man City with, at most, 76 points and they currently have equal goal difference with us.
Man Utd-
Man Utd have City, Swansea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Southampton and Palace. I believe they would be likely to drop points in 2 games (at least) against City, Tottenham and Arsenal. I also believe they will drop points in at least 1 of their other remaining games as they will likely concentrate on the Europa league. This would leave them with, at most, 75 points, but their goal difference is currently less than ours.
Everton-
Everton are currently 6 points behind us, having played the same number of games. As such, winning 3 of our remaining games would ensure we finish above them.
Arsenal-
Arsenal still have to play Leicester, Tottenham, Man Utd, Southampton, Stoke, Sunderland and Everton. I would expect them to drop points in at least 2 of their games against Tottenham, Man Utd and Everton as well as 2 of their games against Leicester, Southampton, Stoke and Sunderland as they are falling apart. This would leave them with, at most, 70 points.
Obviously this is all conjecture but it does show why there is no need for everyone to freak out over the palace game as it is still very much possible that we make top 4.

Of course it's possible, the frustration is letting our control of the situation slip again.

25 Apr 2017 08:41:13
Youve said that Utd and Ars will drop more points than I think they will mate tbh. Were up against it let's face it.

25 Apr 2017 09:26:05
Don't trust Palace to get another point from anyone. They were playing with the fear of relegation vs us and Chelsea. They are safe now.

25 Apr 2017 09:42:06
We have to win all 4. that's that.

25 Apr 2017 10:05:51
Winning all 4 still might not be enough Supermane.

25 Apr 2017 10:14:54
It is all in our hands and that will give the best indication of where the squad currently stands. Ultimately it isn't a bad situation and if it doesn't work out then it is still a learning point for the summer.

25 Apr 2017 12:36:08
It can't be in our hands as if Man U and City win their games in hand they will be ahead of us and if Arsenal do they will be equal.

{Ed001's Note - City and United have to play each other, so they cannot win both win all their games in hand.}

25 Apr 2017 13:02:56
Despite that, Ed001, they can both get past us regardless of our results.

max we can get to is 78.

If City win their remaining 6 games they can get to 82 points, but even if they lose against Utd, they can still get to 79.

If Utd win their games, they can get to 81 points. If they lose to City, they can still get to 78 points and it would come down to goal difference.

A draw wouldn't be great for us as they could both get to 79/ 80 points with 1 draw and other wins.

So I'm going to say that the best result for us would be a City win, as that would put 4th back in our hands, goal difference notwithstanding.

{Ed001's Note - so, if United lose, it would be in our hands, as we can do something about the goal difference.}

25 Apr 2017 13:12:38
Yep, spot on, hence I want a City win, rather than a draw.

25 Apr 2017 13:14:55
BTW, don't discount Arsenal, who could still get to 78 too, albeit at the expense of Utd as they play each other. We could do with Spurs sorting them out when they play in a few weeks!

25 Apr 2017 13:22:55
So it's not entirely in our hands.

25 Apr 2017 15:25:20
United will beat City, who will have a couple of players missing, this will put a lot of pressure on us, City also, that's how I see thus night going .

25 Apr 2017 17:34:02
Utd will NOT survive that brutal schedule they have and will definitely drop points in at least 3 of their games, the same with Arsenal who have Stoke, Saints, Utd and Everton. If that happens and we win out, we get CL footie. It's as simple as that. Also, a City win will work just fine for me.

25 Apr 2017 17:35:23
How likely is it we will win the next 4 games, considering we have only done it something like twice in our history? In fact history would back city who have twice in the last decade won thier last 6 games in a row. It will no doubt go down to the last match of the season but i cannot say that i could back our players to hold their nerve in that situation. Well none of us can tell the future so we will just have to wait and see how it pans out.

Considering no one had us down for top 4 this season i guess we have overachived so heres to hoping they hold their nerve and play out their skins and bag that spot.

25 Apr 2017 01:11:28
My thoughts are we will beat watford, southamton and middlesbrough (teams with nothing to olay for) and draw v west ham as we seem to struggle there.

Utd to lose 2 of arsenal, spurs and city and could drop points v southampton away and even big sams palace. So minimum of 7 points dropped which would see us clinch top 4.

Summer we need a top centre half (a real leader ) and ship out lovren and klaven. A new left back the one on loan at lille that ed001 has mentioned. Keita for midfield and lacazette for striker as he's been a scoring machine past 3 seasons.

Possibly a whinger too cos we can't seem to cope without mane or his quality. This should help us challenge on europe and domestic fronts next year and Klopp should have no excuses with that depth of squad and his summer buys which effectively makes the squad his own. YNWA so chin up guys and keep the faith.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed033's Note - Definitely want a whinger to moan about no mane.

25 Apr 2017 09:04:07
Thinking the game is won before it has begun is what I think some of our players do which is why they get sloppy, make mistakes and concede goals - we need to take it a game at a time and leave everything on the pitch.

25 Apr 2017 09:57:44
Plenty of good "whingers" on here. Maybe klopp could sign one up!

25 Apr 2017 10:17:34
Seano I'm not sure I see our players have that much confidence that they would think the game is won before it starts. I think there are the same issues across the whole season because there are some core weaknesses. but although I may have missed the signs I don't think overconfidence is one of them.

25 Apr 2017 14:20:19
the way people are saying that United will drop so many points and getting beat twice and maybe two draws, that's not going to happen, let's face it, we will def have to win all four of our games, and I don't think that we will, I can see 3 wins and just maybe a draw, I think Southampton will be a tough game also West Ham, fingers crossed, let's just go for it, all out .
