All of the posters who are now screaming blue murder are the same posters who were saying we needed wholesale changes at the end of a title winning season.
Well we got wholesale changes. We ‘upgraded’ the left back, CF and midfield positions as everyone was clamouring for. I think the only position we didn’t get someone in was CB but that was down to Steve Parish not us.
It was easily the ‘best’ transfer window we’ve had in 40 years.
The problem is, games aren’t won in transfer windows. We now look unbalanced and the players don’t trust each other. We don’t look fit, we don’t look sharp, nobody seems to understand their role in the team in both attacking and defending.
This squad will come good. It’s a great squad that will win leagues and champions leagues. We will have to go through some pain first which we are right in the midst of at the moment but we have to stick with it.
I expected teething problems but I have to admit I didn’t expect performances like last night. We were awful all over the pitch. Got bullied, outplayed, outfought, outrun.
The mentality in the squad has obviously been affected and could take time to rebuild. That may or may not be with Slot at the helm but however it comes then so be it.
One thing that keeps me sane right now is when I look at the players we have. We have a world class squad that will be fine. We as fans just need to accept that it will take time and stick with it. If ever there was an example that transfers don’t win matches. This is it.

We did need changes in the team . but the fall from grace is spectacular. im on the fence on whether Slot can turn it round or if he will be given the time . but its not just the results is it . we are terrible all over the park . if we were losing games but were playing well we'd just be saying how unlucky we are .
for eg we buy Kerkez, a flying fullback n make him play ' inverted ' he looks like a fish out of water . yea we needed changes but we got to ba able to manage it all a lot better n sadly as we all can see its just not working. so what we do. stick or twist.

There are no guarantee's that all of the new players will work out. The law of averages, and stats around players who cost over 80m suggest that at least 1 of Isak and Wirtz will not work out.
We need an inventive manager who can work with what he has been given by Eddie and Hughes playing football manager.

I thought the midfield was unbalanced last season but we walked the League.
It's even more unbalanced this season because Mac is struggling, Szob keeps getting moved and Wirtz is more of a ten. Add to that we had to buy two new fullbacks and neither really wants to defend.
We just need two or three players that are prepared to tackle, hold their position and run back.
Yeah, if we click we will batter some teams but teams will also be able to get at us.
I think we need to buy because I don't see anyone in the squad or coming through that can give us what we need. The midfield and fullback (you can add Konate, too) situations mean we are a soft touch to play against.

I agree with you Robbo. The squad is decent and should definitely be performing better than it currently is now. True, there still can be some more improvements that need to be made. But if so many I'd them look out of sorts, then the issue is with the coaches and the tactics, not the players.

Robbo, signing new players can help you win games, provided the staff know what they are doing. If they don't then, transfers will do nothing for you. This is what we are experiencing in real time.

The squad is good as Dracred says, not world class, sorry Robbo. The issue lies full and square on Slot and Co. In May I was thinking of Klopp was our Shanks 2.0 and Slot our Paisley 2.0.
it might still end up that way but the more it progresses it seems highly unlikely. It won't be allowed to move into December. Nov. Is rubbish or Bust for Arne. Hugely disappointing but onwards we go.
