Isnt it great to wake up knowing liverpool had a great win n played some decent football. not been a good month for us, so hopefully we can see some light at the end of this depressing tunnel. hard work n a proper way of playing will/ should instill a lot of confidence back into the players n management.

Fingers crossed our rough patch is behind us - every team goes through one. I’d much rather we have ours now than at the end of the season when we’re on the verge of winning the league!

Thought Wirtz played really well last night as did quite a few others, he probably should've had a goal along with his assist had Salah squared it rather than take on a shot from where he was. I did think that the way Frankfurt set up suited us though.

Hopefully the Isak sub was more precaution because of what he felt rather than anything actually tearing!

Also, a little alarmed that Frimpong has now had two hamstring injuries since the start of the season. Seems rather unfair on the lad as he seems a decent guy and probably deserves a bit of a break!

All in all, can't really grumble too much, 5 goals, Ekitike looks ice cold in front of goal!

Defo salah . get it all out the way now. nothing worse than nothing to play for from March onwards.

Absolutely Salah. We have been extremely unfortunate with the way we’ve lost games recently but you could argue it’s all of our own doing for not taking our chances and being too open in transition.

I thought second half last night we were much better, we got closer to them and won the ball back quickly in transition which is something we’ve really been poor at this season. Their goal was a prime example, Wirtz lost the ball in the right wing area and one pass into the centre of the pitch and the guy had no one within 15 yards of him. That cannot happen.

We will always create chances we just need to be disciplined and not over commit.

I disagree that we’ve been “extremely unfortunate” @Robbo. The four games we lost, and some of the seven we won, we actually played poor football by the standards we are capable of. There were / are upissues that need to be addressed in terms of set up and execution of game plan. Being unfortunate reduces it to the level of luck, which just wasn’t the case.

Salah, indeed. One game at a time.

It comes down to how you define being unfortunate @WDW. I can see both sides. Take the Man U game for example - our xG was more that double that of United. Gakpo hit the woodwork 3 times before he scored (and missed a sitter of a header afterwards) . Salah and Isak both also missed great chances so you could argue that despite playing poorly by our standards we still created more than enough opportunities to win the game and with a bit of luck on another day we win that game easily.

On the other hand you can argue that if the players were playing better they would be taking those chances and we would be winning the game without the need for any fortune to go our way.

Well put, Shipley but I always go back to the idea that performances should matter first cos they will lead to actually scoring the goals at least, most of the time.

Also, you can play as badly as we did or have been playing and still score goals and win games. The first 5 PL games already taught us that.

Performances are subjective. Results are not.
