Long time reader but small time poster, it’s intriguing reading this site posts over the last few months, fans going delirious about all these signings, how Slot was god and we would win the league by a canter this season, to the players are bad, terrible signings, hughes is out of his depth, to Slot should be sacked all in the space of 8-10 weeks. Football is a strange sport sometimes, and fans are even stranger. My take is that the players are fine the tactics are the issue, does that mean slot should go? If he doesn’t sort it out soon then maybe but I remember Klopp having a number of poor results but had enough credit in the bank to be given a pass, slot needs time to show he can adapt which he showed plenty of times last year, we have a title winning squad but we need the manager to show why he deserves to be at LFC, I’m not going to slate anyone, they are all in the positions there in due to their skill sets, none of us work in football to this level yet feel we could do better which is quite hilarious.

If we were better why are we not running football clubs like LFC? Opinions are great but we don’t need to be aholes about them.

Not comparable at all. Klopp had the misfortune of having all of his centre backs unavailable due to injury, that’s what caused his run of poor results. Slots is entirely down to his decisions, tactical set up and refusal to play with a defensive midfielder.

You can save the holier than thou stuff as you’ll only look foolish when we fail to beat Palace, Villa, Madrid and Man City.

Our centre-backs were fit when we got whopped 7-1 by Dean Smith's Villa that season. People always blame the results that season on the centre-backs which is part of the story but our other players were playing some generally awful football.

It was 7-2 and Adrian played instead of Alisson.
The results were not just because of the injured centre halves.
We finished third that season and we didn't sack the manager.

Surely the season where our midfielders legs suddenly gave out and we had to bring the most injury prone player in the world on loan to try and solve it was worse than the year we had kabak and Rhys williams starting in defence.

At least in our last title defence year we had the Alisson goal in the end, that is still probably my favourite Liverpool moment of the klopp era besides corner taken quickly.

Wasn't the season that we finished 5th worse than the season that we lost all our CBs? The tactics we used were strange then too. All our players looked like shadows of their former selves that seasons although we did recover well the season after that.

Your last paragraph is 100% correct ?.

Agreed Dracred. If I remember correctly it was a very similar rhetoric then as well, on the basis that Klopp wasn't really the 'coach', it was Pep Ljinders, and he was getting pelters in much the same way GVB is now.
I specifically remembers saying if we aren't playing Klopp football, then we might as well sack Klopp and put Pep in charge so at least he's accountable.

Problem is, the tactical set up we are playing now is even worse than it was then.

It's deja-vu, all over again, Westwood. I never thought what happened back then, would happen now BUT sadly, here we are. Good heavens.
