Shout out to Jurgen. Turns out that, despite what all the experts said, spending doesn't guarantee winning. Perhaps he was right all along to continue to work with a cohesive group instead.
Let's try to remember that when we're slagging the owners for not spending, that there's a few (probably the same posters) popping up to slag the owners for spending money on the *wrong* players now!

Totally agree about the spending bit. But let’s not pretend as tho we’re going to spend like last window every window. These are necessary turbulent period as we establish our new norma.

As an advocate for spending within our means, pragmatic management etc I don’t take pleasure in watching our stumbling start performance-wise.
But long term it is the best approach.
The key is that we are in sync as we move forward on this journey. I’m detecting that we aren’t in sync from the transfer team to the coaches to the playing group.

I don’t think it was ever about spending/ not spending I think it was just jurgen is world class and could have achieved what he wanted anyway we did it.
Also salah not been great this season. That’s nothing to do with spending.
Not Ibou seemingly forgetting how to defend.
Or Ali injury.

Pretty sure the only main stay players not bought in Klopps squads were Trent and Jones.
Every other player were bought.
Klopp and owners definitely spent money.

Lets get Marc Guehi in to stengthen the backside. Every winning team is built from the back.
After that let's evaluate.

Klopp spent big on Alisson, van Dijk, Keita, Nunez etc and Slot worked mainly with a cohesive group last season; too cohesive for many.

You mean Jurgen Klopp?
Didn’t he sign Van Dijk, Becker, Nunez?
Definitely knew about spending.

These players will settle, wertz is a generational player and we have 2 really good forwards, the main problem for me is everything is still going through salah instead of using wertz, salah is so far off the boil he could make iced tea.
{Ed078's Note - agreed. Wirtz is a different kind of player. No guarantees he will perform in England, but we would be remiss not to give his gifts the time and space to succeed.
06 Oct 2025 09:08:45
Wirtz is two bad Salah misses from 2 assists.

@Faith and @Fatwallet, did you see that outsanding back flick Wirtz executed to Salah as soon as he came on that Salah spurned? Outstanding stuff. I mean, the courage and belief to execute such a s-kill tells me that his confidence is still up and hasn't quit on himself. We may have issues BUT "Flo" ain't one of them, and I stand by that. Keep working hard, Flo.

Mate he’s class, get the team playing through him and we will fly.
{Ed025's Note - yeah that 1 second flick was magic, but what the hell has he been doing for the other 43,200 seconds FW?..
06 Oct 2025 21:47:27
yeah it was magical.
during the gme my 11-year old son made an observation that when we pass the ball inside our own half between our CBs and then launch a ball forward, Wirtz gets lost and is basically out of the game.
I thought that was pretty profound for an 11 year old lol but also spot on as we're not playing really to anyone's strengths.
