I'd love Enrique to be clear but I think he's happy in France and probably on a massive contract at psg. Flick, no thanks.

Flick has the benefit of some truly outstanding young players at Barca, Pedri, Yamal, Cubarsi etc. The first two of those three are in the top 2 or 3 players in their position in the world. I'm not saying he isn't a very good manager, but he would make our defense even more porous than it is now, the incredibly high line he has with Barcelona means that they can get pumped on any given day if the press is breached (though to be fair that happens to us right now with our press that are far less aggressive than Barca's), and that's just the way he's always set teams up to play.

Iriola is promising but its a huge gamble as he has never managed a big club and big egos, glasner i feel has won cups at previous clubs and gone on long winning streaks creating a winning environment and has a nice balance of discipline and charisma.
Then there could be someone like mancini or spalletti the latter hasn't managed in this league which is a gamble in itself.

I think that if Ajax sack Heitinga, which looks increasingly likely, then that could trigger Slot and Van Bronkhorst departing, with Heitinga returning to work with Virgil in some sort of player/ coach role until end of season, when all will be reassessed, as I imagine the minimum expected from this season would be a top 4 finish and at the moment that looks very unlikely, so unless results dramatically change very soon, personal will change before Xmas.

Slot hadn't managed a big club and big egos before he got the job with us. Iraola has PL experience so that's a huge plus for him.

Managers have never won games, a very simple reason they don't kick a Football? Hugo and Isak are the two best centre forwards in Europe, never mind the Prem, the Firepower is there in abundance they have to play together as a Front Two "ONLY".
The above needs the Ammunition to thrive, the above two are miles better than Haaland, why does he function at City simple answer crosses from the wide areas, the "supply of ammunition". A cross is only like a roulette wheel it either lands on red or black, that is circa a 50% chance that a cross falls to either a homeor away player.
For instance a Corner is only a Cross performed from a stationary ball against Frankfurt it landed on Red twice that's percentages, and why Arsenal are currently top.
Sir Bob Paisley went one better than that he never played pacy wingers his wide players were Ray Kennedy and Case, Sir Bob increased the percentages from 50% crosses to circa 80% by knowing that a pass to a fellow team mate is called "pass succession" which averages for top teams above 80%. Rush was his Haaland so to speak. He always played four mids, if he was the current manager that would be Alexis, Ryan, Florian, Domination, that's the supply line for Hugo and Isak, and also the protection of four players for your defence.
Our best performance last season was City away 4-4-2, MO, Diaz, behind them Alexis, Ryan, Curtis, Domination, what did Guardiola do straight after that game and has done all season, Arteta also, they now both play 4-1-4-1, Arteta signed Zubimendi to copy, but only after Guardiola copied Heitinga, LFC had demolished his set in stone 4-3-3, like ours 4-2-3-1 is currently being demolished.
The Gods of English Football Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Dalglish, Clough, Ferguson all played 4-4-2, it would only be an "idiot" who could only argue against them. young posters must think that a low block has only just been invented, it was called another name in the 1960s "the massed defence", the above greats of the game use to absolutely love playing against any team who never entered our half of the field, as simply playing with the ball is better than without it! all the odds/ percentages even greater for a team who only wants to play football.
4-4-2 has so many permutations during a game 4-5-1,4-2-4,4-1-4-1, the only consistent factor is 4 or more midfield players, which are your supply and defense. All the ingredients are there, especially the front two, it just needs someone with a football acumen to move the Army (Arny)?
YNWA 97 and 20.

Iriloa is a big risk because of certain characters now in our squad. Salah has to go after this season because I suspect he's not going to take it well being benched a lot more this season. He's not prime Messi to warrant what we're getting regardless of the odd goal. The huge contracts has not worked out well for us.
