Edd001 think most would like to know how you feel about the news of klopp. Expected this early?

{Ed001's Note - it really should have been expected, thinking about it now. As I said a long time ago, he had been trying to take a step back and hand over more responsibility to the coaching staff. But he had seemed revitalised in recent months, knowing his wife and family are happy in Liverpool also made me believe (clearly more in hope than out of realistic expectation) that he had changed his mind and was looking to stay for the longer term. Gutted doesn't begin to describe it.}

Last season wiped him out.

Do you think it'd be worth getting an interim for a year and seeing is Jurgen still happy with 'a normal life' after that year?

Or should we just get the proper appointment done?

{Ed001's Note - I don't think we can afford to wait for one man, even the great Jurgen Klopp, in the hope he will be ready. This isn't a man under the extreme stress and strain that Dalglish had been put under in his first spell. This is ordinary operating stress, so it is time to move on. Just need to get it right.}

Edd001 I have to agree on the gutted part. He WAS everything we fans ever wanted in a manager and how he became soo connected to this club, it's culture, fans, the city etc. His passion and style of play, it will go unmatched. I'd welcome xabi but it feels like we have to let go a great love of our lives that we'll never ever get over. I just didn't expect it this season but hey he has his own life he wants and deserves to live in the sun.

{Ed001's Note - I think that is a very good way to describe it.}

26 Jan 2024 17:32:11
Ahhhh Ed, I'm gutted!

The perfect fit Mizer.

Tickets for Wolves last game of the season have just become even more gold dust.

I’ve just promised my son we will 100% be at Anfield even if it’s just to cheer the great man into the stadium on the bus.

26 Jan 2024 17:42:17
The only saving grace is that he is leaving a squad far superior to the one he inherited. The ground work has already been done.

26 Jan 2024 17:58:36
Hi all, yes I’m shocked as he seemed back on form this season. Suspect he wants to go out on top and I don’t blame him. How do you follow him? Tough task for any other manager. Ask David Moyes!

26 Jan 2024 18:13:14
I’d 100% wait for Klopp if he wanted a year off. Really disappointed no one asked him in the press conference if he would consider coming back after some time off.
Can’t imagine Klopp managing another club - would be so weird. V strange decision tbh from my perspective with the timing. Would have liked one more season to replace Salah and finish the rebuild.

26 Jan 2024 19:26:59
I honestly believed if it was going to, be any season it would be the end of next season. As Ed has said he looked rejuvenated this season, and I thought he would have wanted one last crack at the CL.

Good luck to the man.

26 Jan 2024 19:38:55
Absolutely gutted. The next appointment has to be 100% right. None of that Brendan Rodgers nonsense.

26 Jan 2024 19:47:07
MIZER, well said. If you love someone then, you got to let them go and the memories with it. No point dwelling on the past if our hope is to continue to progress and move forward. We need to let Klopp go so we can continue to progress cos at the end of the day, that is what Klopp would want.

26 Jan 2024 20:43:47
Do we think he looke rejuvenated because he has managed to break the news to the owners and players? Just clutching at straws but it must have been even more added stress and strain knowing what he needed to do for him, but not vocalising it.

Once he came to terms with what he needed to do and committed to it by telling those he needed to that stress lifted and he was a bit more rejuvenated.

I honestly don't believe the way and time it has come out was the plan. Rumours of the press potentially leaking it have forced the move.

I feel devastated but a happy devastated. Like I was devastated every season Liverpool under achieved before him. Gutted that we went years without being title contenders. I had never seen Liverpool finish top of the league and I don't think I ever would without him.

To work in the constraints he did in the early years. To turn last year round into this and leave us in a very strong position.

Fergie left an aging squad, Klopp saw the aging squad and made sure he sorted it out before moving on.

The man has single handedly bought hope back to the club and not just hope out of passion or love for the club. A genuine hope bourne out of belief.

What an amazing individual. What a set up he has.

He gave his heart and would to the city and the club. Whatever he does next I wish him and his family the absolute best in life.

Ed 001 question for you. Do you see Klopp leaving being as damaging as when Bob Paisley left the club. We never looked the same after he went and obviously Hillsbourgh tragedy happened but it took an absolute age to get us back to where we belong. It’s got to be a worry
Up the pool.

{Ed001's Note - no, different times and we are in a stronger relative long term position.}

26 Jan 2024 22:31:45
Ed001 mate…

Maybe he looked rejuvenated because the weight had lifted of his shoulders once he told the club his decision…. Back in November by all accounts.

{Ed001's Note - that is clearly what it was. Sadly.}

26 Jan 2024 22:59:21
Edd001 did Carra know around that time because Carra said randomly a while ago the fans would go mad if the club ever went against klopp and got rid of him. That the fans backed klopp over anyone else. Seemed left field at the time.

{Ed001's Note - I doubt Carra knew anything much, the club have not got rid of Klopp nor have they gone against him, so not sure there is even a slight bit of relevance to him.}

26 Jan 2024 18:57:15
Brummy they did ask him, it was in relation to when Fergie said he was stepping down then back tracked and changed his mind that season. Jurno asked Klopp if he could see himself doing the same thing, he said no straight away. I’m gutted but he has been fantastic for us and the league. I have read so many comments from other team’s supporters, that just goes to show how well he has done.
