Ed002 if I may ask?
Not entirely LFC related but could potentially impact lfc next season, do you envisage Guardiola leaving city this summer? I believe his contract is running till the summer of 2025 (I may be completely wrong on this) but how likely would you say it that Guardiola leaves this summer? Or maybe even go against what I'm saying and sign a new contract with city and stay even beyond next summer?

{Ed002's Note - He has resisted a new contract so far and the plan is to leave next summer. It would be a surprise but not a shock if he walked away this summer and the club do have some thoughts on a replacement already.}

Hi, I see some people mention Ed002 opinion on Slot and I have searched but cannot find anything. Just wondered what the Eds thought about the appointment?
I am quite excited to see the new era start, I have loved the Klopp reign, but he does look like he is ready to leave.

The only worry I have is this league is unforgiving the spot light and pressure if he doesn't start well will be intense, everyone outside of liverpool will be looking for anything negative to throw at him and in reality he will need time to adjust.

I think the management know what they are doing in selecting slot. Managers get paid well to put up with the pressure I’m sure he will be fine. We have an excellent squad who need new ideas, I think people will be in for a surprise at what slot brings.

I don’t understand where the ideas around our budgets are coming from.
We pay huge wages to Salah, Alisson, Virgil.
Macca and Darwin are probably on a lot.
Talk of £100m burning a hole in FSG’s pocket seems weird to me.

He likes to be high pressure when out of possession but with the ball he prefers to build play through midfield passing and generate chances via cut backs from the wings, based on what I saw the other day which was admittedly only 7 games.
This is just my view but it's a successful system but it is not much fun to warch, like guardiola there is little to no room for spontaneity and everything stems from drilling patterns of play into players.
He's far closer to pep than he is to klopp.

Eds do you have any further insight to Fabrizio Romano's claim that Nunez was wanted by Chelsea last summer and indeed that's a possible transfer this summer? We know Edwards wasn't/ isn't a fan of Nunez and that this was a Klopp purchase and not based on a data-driven option that Edwards goes for? TIA.

Heard Liverpool has reached an agreement on the Compensation fee with Feyenoord, apparently it's €12m, everything between Slot and Liverpool is agreed so I'd expect an announcement by the weekend.

Just one thing, probably showing inexperience, but I knocked Amorim for it so I think its only fair to knock Slot too. Can he not keep his gob shut until the current season ends?
I wouldn't be too happy to hear my manager, with games left in the season, to be talking about how happy he is to be going to another club.
Now, as I said, it's probably down to inexperience but I would think the top brass at LFC aren't too happy about it either.
ANYWAY, hopefully Slot moves smoothly (slots? ) into the position of LFC manager and uses the talents he will have at his disposal to have a very sucessful career at our club. Looking forward to it actually.

I think Klopp's and Slot's statements to the press are to allow them to keep control of the narrative to some extent and curtail the worst of the speculation when things inevitably leak.

Do you not think a agreement with a manager secretly agreed before klopp devastating announcement would not of caused or eased the unrest which is clearly running through the club now? Or even a quicker decision on who we wanted? Still would of loved alonso, even amor in really excited me but slot is well respected and he's got feyernoord playing decent footy.

I like the guy saying unambiguously that he's up for it. He's also not jeopardising his current team's future by coming out with it now. Feyenoord are pretty much guaranteed to come second in the Dutch Eredivisie. They're 9 points behind PSV with 3 matches to play and a negative goal difference of 30. Meanwhile, the third placed team are 12 points behind.

On a more serious note - as a Liverpool fan I’m happy that he is joining. He seems honest and capable from the little I have read and those qualities aren’t a bad start in my opinion.
