Arne has a style of playing that does not suit the Premier league we seen it last game with the kids; pass, pass, pass to penalty area exactly like first team. Last season was different in we had a squad who still did things the Klopp way so Arne let it run and it paid off.
Now it is different players, different system that prem teams have sussed out. let us attack, keep wide man up and play a ball over our defence exactly how the young lad was caught out and sent off last game.
The blame is always going to be on Arne's shoulders, but we have top international players that should be ashamed of themselves. they need to look at themselves in the mirror because they are equally to blame for this poor run of form.
I am not one of the sack him crowd i think Arne can turn this around, we do not need knee jerk reactions at our club . YNWA.

I can't help thinking that we haven't seen Arne's style of play this season. I don't even know what his first eleven will be.
I didn't like our style of play last season and the season before but Klopp/ Slot's team showed that it could be successful.
It's a different team this time but, as I said, I don't even know whether we've seen it or its style of play yet.
31 Oct 2025 15:55:19
His style is so bad he won the Premier League.
31 Oct 2025 16:16:23
I’ve just read the rest of your post and it makes even less sense.
So Slot just lit a pipe at the start of last season and stayed in his office until the title was won?
31 Oct 2025 16:31:29
Robbo did you stay awake for us winning the league? I can’t remember most of the games last season boring blur to me.
31 Oct 2025 16:48:23
Stayed awake for a coupla days after winning it that's for sure.
31 Oct 2025 17:07:24
Forgetting about last season, If we’re talking about right now, there is no playing style.
None whatsoever. There’s no plan.
I’ve convinced myself that Arne is going to attempt to get this squad fit for around February, add 2/ 3 more players in Jan, and really have a crack at this European Cup
Leagues over, Top 4/ 5 looks unlikely, if we can crawl to Jan, can’t believe I’m saying this, but chuck another £150m at it, try Fix this absolute mess we’re in, and go for Ol Big Ears
I refuse to believe the seasons over and this ends in total failure.
31 Oct 2025 17:31:13
Scouse John, do you think Arsenal fans will give a flying fish how they go about winning the league, having waited so long? The euphoria of the Spurs game will stay with me for the rest of my life and I couldn't care less if we didn't play "heavy metal" football. You must be fun to be with at a party, for gawd sake.
31 Oct 2025 17:43:08
Top 4/ 5 unlikely and 2 or 3 players in in January, LFC8? I'd have to disagree strongly with both.
Scousejohn, were you not entertained?
We won the League by ten points and were easily the top goal scorers.
31 Oct 2025 17:50:41
Top4/ 5 looks unlikely? My God.
31 Oct 2025 17:56:54
Rome I’m great fun believe it or not. I love Liverpool. I loved wengers invincibles team played some great footy, along with some of fergies I hate to say it and klopps heavy metal.
I’ve got a style I love. I don’t want no 1-0 boring keep the ball footy it’s crap a waste of 2 hours of my life. If I wanted that I’d watch another team. Btw I’ll never forget the spurs game either.
31 Oct 2025 18:20:26
Well Rigsby Slot would disagree with your assessment. He has a playing style and he doesn't see a need to change it completely.
31 Oct 2025 18:34:22
I'm glad you enjoyed the Spurs game, mate, and, to be fair, you'll be hard pressed to be as miserable as me, that's a fact.
I agree with you about Fergie's and Wenger's football as well.
Regards to being entertained by our title winning sides, a lot of the Paisley winning sides didn't exactly play scintillating football. We certainly took advantage of being able to pass back to the keeper. I still cherished every one of them though. I had to wait for the 87/ 88 title win to be blown away with our football. It was a type of football I hadn't seen from us before. Mainly down to my hero John Barnes. We then had to wait another 30 years to be blown away with Jurgen's football, putting aside the Suarez era. My point is, despite being the most successful club in English history, it hasn't always been high entertainment, but I've savoured every success, nonetheless.
31 Oct 2025 18:40:17
LFC8, disagree with your comments.
We threw a lot of money at the squad this summer and I hope that's not the blueprint going forwards. We need a clear transfer strategy and buy what we need not what we want.
31 Oct 2025 18:47:54
Scouse, we've all got a style we love but getting back to the football.
31 Oct 2025 18:54:47
Flyer, what is Slot's best eleven and style with that team, please?
31 Oct 2025 19:07:56
Rigsby, I never said I disagreed with you.
31 Oct 2025 19:31:13
Rigsby only Slot can answer that. And I don’t mean it in a pedantic way. I mean it as I genuinely don’t think anyone else could answer it. At this moment I’m not sure If Slot himself actually knows.
31 Oct 2025 19:38:04
JK agreed. He's seemed out of ideas lately no question. He's either convinced he's on the right track or more of the same unfortunately.
31 Oct 2025 20:32:53
JK and Red Flyer, it was more of a rhetorical question.
I can't be too hard on Slot because I don't know what he wants to do yet. That doesn't mean we can't criticise him for what we've seen.
I said early doors last season that he seemed to work out his first eleven fairly quickly and that helped. Quansah was dropped and it didn't take him that long to bench Nunez even though we didn't have another nine, at times. Grav was six and I had big concerns about that.
This season we have a lot of new players, some of which have not settled for whatever reasons but I'm not going to pretend I know what they are!
He needs time to get them playing together and he hasn't been able to do that. I can't believe that Isak and Wirtz (I don't know a lot about him, to be fair) are as bad as we have seen.
No one wants to write a season off- especially after the last one- but some things just need time and patience. He might not get it right again and then we move on but I can't have all this 'he should just fix it'. It's not that simple.
How do you replace TAA, for example? You don't because he does what no other fullback does.
He has his faults but he's a fullback that could receive the ball on the edge of our box and put us on the front foot.
There are other things that need improving but I'd like to see the new players settled and a semblance of a first team and style before getting rid of Slot.
{Ed025's Note - you are right about TAA not being like any other defender Rigsby.. .because he couldn,t really defend mate.. :)
31 Oct 2025 21:12:49
Anyone who thinks this guy is any sort of tactician is lying to themselves.
31 Oct 2025 22:06:34
Fullback, Ed025. Fullback.
The modern fullback can't defend. I know you're old skool and you prefer the likes of Big Jakey but I'm not sure he can pass a ball like Trent.
I'm not sure Jakey can pass a ball like Terence Trent D'Arby, for that matter.
{Ed025's Note - i am old school you are right Rigsby, if the lord wanted defenders to attack he would have given them brains mate...Mathew 4-2-4.. :)
01 Nov 2025 01:56:10
When we won our first 5 games nobody was talking about Diaz and Trent. I'm guilty of missing them both last few games. Didn't see the whole match midweek but I thought Ramsay did very well. Good passing range, looks tidy and confident on the ball and some good progressive passing. Maybe can help us get over Trent given time. Gakpo meanwhile.
01 Nov 2025 07:18:28
Comparing Trent to a traditional fullback is a fool's errand anyway, the question is- when you have a player like Trent in your team, what does it allow the rest of the team to do, what does it allow your midfielders to do, what kinds of runs can your attacking players make in the knowledge that he can find them, how does it affect the opposition's shape off the ball knowing what he can do with the ball at his feet, how much can they commit to the press and how much space can they leave between the lines?
Sure, other fullbacks can defend better than him, but can they affect the entirety of the game the way that he can/ the way that he did for us when he started playing like more of a quarterback from deep? I don't think any other team has built so much of their play around a fullback in the premier league era, surely that attests to how unique of a player he was? Obviously picking any player with a unique skillset and unique drawbacks you are accepting certain tradeoffs that hopefully the rest of your team makes up for defensively or offensively.
The loss of Trent and the problems in our build up kind of make it a lot clearer why we wanted to go for Guehi, he's not a passer like Trent but he is another very unique defender insofar as his biggest skill is his ability to carry the ball from deep or comfortably pass the ball from deep to the midfield under pressure.

On the subject of exciting football, the most thrilling football I have seen as a Liverpool fan were periods of the Evans years, which were exciting for both good and bad reasons, the height of the Klopp years, and one year under Rafa when we came second and the handbrake came off with Stevie running riot as essentially a second striker, Aurelio managing to stay fit for half a season and Nando hitting the form of his life. That only lasted three or four months, though.
Otherwise football was essentially incredibly dire under Rafa and Houillier, and the year we came second under Rodgers was purely down to Sturridge being able to stay fit for the first time in his life, Coutinho emerging as the best young 10 in the world and Suarez blossoming into one of the most unstoppable players we have ever seen in the premiership nutmegging every player he was up against every week. That had nothing to do with Rodgers or the 'Liverpool way' though, we just had the fortune of having three mercurial attacking players begin to peak at the same time with Sterling.
I'm not sure where the expectation that we should be blowing teams out of the water with non-stop attacking football has come from. Of course I expect that we should play front foot, fluid football as a top team with a pedigree, but to suggest that last year's title was won with a pragmatic snoozefest style that deviates from our club's principles seems pretty off the mark to me?
