Nice one, TheRedKop. So essentially based on the points you have made, Wirtz is a victim of the style of play (doughnut in the midfield, slow movement/ progression of the football, a lack of press etc. ) or at least a big part of it, right? Sincere question.

Great post, just shows how ponderous we have been in our build up play, those 2 games vs Villa and Madrid when we upped our game different class, Wirtz is a quality player.

Really good observation, mate. Couldn’t agree more.
Ekitike is the only one who actually seems willing to make runs in behind anymore. Gakpo is way too static off the ball, and Mo still has his moments, but he’s definitely having more off days than usual lately.

Yup, the second assist was even better than the first in my opinion. It is a much harder one to see, and the pass needs perfect timing plus ridiculous precision.
Anyway, it is on Slot now to make this work. No excuses left. Wirtz is world class end of debate.
