I don't know how these pundits can say a team that had zero shots and 19% possession deserved something from the game. I don't mind burnley they did what they had to do and almost got a point but they didn't deserve anything from the game.

Some key points from my side.

-cody gackpo cannot be the sole LW option for us he cannot open defenders and is too predictable.
- rio chiesa have now opened up our attack and added to it in 4 games running.
- wirtz needs to play on wing on drop deeper. Right now its like he is a every where but doing nothing.
- we need to protect macca
- szobo is wasted at RB and we need him in midfield
- i like frimpong but he is not a RB i can't believe he is so lightweight
- kerkez is trying to impress and i think needs to relax a lot. Thank god we have robbo
-cant wait for isak.

Did frimpong do something wrong last night?

Also 'getting something from the game' means getting anything above 0 points. They desperately wanted, and were close to getting one point. It's not like pundits are saying they should have won.

Kerkez has been soo poor and offered nothing going forward. I was never keen on us pursuing him though he was a good buy. He's young, aggressive and technically good. He's just not as effective as robertson though especially going forward. Robbo put in some quality balls yesterday because he knew when too and had the quality. Problem is though if you drop kerkez for a few games which I doubt slot would do, instead of getting the best out of kerkez you'd probably get an even more rash player. Robertson certainly deserves to start based on Burnleys performance. I'm sure slot knows he has to rotate a lot more this season but you also struggle with consistency chopping and changing players over games. Some players adapt easily and others look rusty.
Imo our best fullbacks currently are bradley and Robertson.

No they didn't deserve anything draw or anything from the game. They had no intent at all. 0 shots. that's not tactics.

Wirtz isn't a winger and shouldn't be dropping deep, he is making good runs and finding space the team just needs to get used to each other.

It is a tactic though, if they came to play against us we would probably have destroyed them. For a team with a tenth the budget of ours, getting a point against us defending in a low block is a legitimate aspiration. Though to be fair Scott parker set them up to do that virtually every game in the championship last year.

I pretty much disagree with every single point you made there Akira. It’s a game of opinions I guess.

I’m not sure what more Gakpo could’ve done to be less predictable. He had Walker on toast and went inside and outside to the point where Walker couldn’t predict which way he was going to go. The problem was that the box was filled with Burnley players so when Gakpo got past Walker he was confronted with another tackle immediately. There was just no space.

Wirtz is definitely not a winger just have a bit of patience. For me he just needs to relax. He’s perpetual motion, always looking for space but sometimes you just need to stop and the space will appear. He’ll get there, don’t forget he’s only 22 and in a new country and a new league.

Not sure how you got Frimpong being lightweight from that late cameo either. Don’t forget it was his cross that won the penalty so he affected the game in a positive way.

Kerkez is young and hot headed but I think he was unfortunate. Yes it was an embarrassing dive but was it any worse than the numerous dives Arsenal were doing at Anfield at every set piece? I didn’t see them getting booked for it. Strange inconsistencies in refereeing as per usual. The ‘foul’ he committed wasn’t even a foul, the Burnley player dived but yet again dodgy refereeing gave Slot no choice.

The rest of what you said is pretty obvious stuff really. I thought Burnley set up to not get battered knowing they were probably going to lose the game. They had zero intent to win but the longer it went on at 0-0 the deeper they got and the more defensive they got. We got lucky with the handball but nobody could argue we deserved to win the game.

Kerkez reminds me of Alberto Moreno.

{Ed025's Note - he reminds me of Mr Bean..

Gakpo certainly didn't have Walker "on toast". Went outside once from what I remember all game. Am getting fed up of his cut backs on to right foot, head down and curl into the back post which I'm sure is a shot not a cross on his part. He's one dimensional. There was no space against Burnley. Too little movement and ball played in far too slow. Wirtz making runs but rarely getting picked out.
