I’ve never been one to call for a Liverpool manager to be sacked, and I’m not saying that here, but I'm beginning to believe Slot doesn't have the temperament, ability or understanding of the Premier League, to be our long-term solution. Hope he proves me wrong.

One problem is passion. Klopp, Fergie, Pep – they show fire on the touchline. I want a Liverpool manager to be angry, annoyed, shouting at the players, officials and showing that commitment on the touchline. Slot just looks laid back, and that doesn’t inspire players. Maybe that works in the Eredivisie, but not here.

Tactically, it’s worrying. Playing Sobo at RB when we’ve got Ramsey, Gomez or even Jones is madness.
Don’t get me started on Konate, who just trots around like he thinks he’s Beckenbauer, Moore or Maldini is just criminal…. too often just jogging back, playing everyone onside, and for his size he gets bullied off the ball. I don’t understand why they’re even offering him a new contract…. he’s not good enough and isn’t the leader we need when VVD finally goes, so let him go and replace.

We’ve got attacking talent – Ekitike, Wirtz, Isak, Sobo, Chiesa, Salah, Gakpo. Any decent manager should be able to build around that. Try a 4‑4‑2 or 3‑2‑3‑2, just try something new and get more balls into the box and play with intensity, because right now we’re too lethargic, flat and predictable.

Honestly, on times it feels like this job might be too much for Slot. Not sure he has the man-management skills to succeed at this level either. Happy to be proved wrong, but I’m losing hope. He doesn’t trust the squad, sticks with his favourites, and that cost us in other competitions last season too.

What does that say to the other players? You’re not good enough? I don’t trust you?
That’s not the right mindset to be the Liverpool manager!

I read somewhere that he has until the New Year to turn this around. Maybe that’s right, who knows, so let’s see how December goes!

I would expect defeats against West Ham or Sunderland in the coming games might put the tin lid on it.

While there are so many factors that may have contributed to this, players shirking tackles is the biggest indicator that something is deeply wrong.

It's a shame as I like Slot. And I think Dickie and Mickey have to take a share of the blame for the half-baked summer window which has left us short of physicality and ball progression.

Unfortunately, I am not sure Arne Slot and his staff have the personality to dig some of these players out of their feeling sorry for themselves.
