I understand some of the clamour around Gerrard returning under a coaching capacity. Because how I see it is Arne Slot doesn't really understand the city or the people of Liverpool and how important football is to them.
Slot seems so detached from the fan base and the city. Until he lives and breathes the city i don't ever think he'll be truly successful or accepted. Rafa and Klopp understood the city, fans and communities.

I don't quite follow you, Ashy. Not sure what "understanding the city" has to do with us playing sh*te. What I do know is, we're the champions of England and we won the league under Slot. I've posted elsewhere, I don't get the clamour to find a role for Gerrard. One of our all time greats as a player, but that doesn't make him a half decent coach, as he's managed to prove himself.
I'm not sure what you expect Slot to do to attach himself to the fan base. What I do know, he was idolised by the Kop before this shocking run, no one was saying he didn't get the city then. All I want is for him to sort this capitulation in form out. If I happen to see him in the Cavern club, whilst he's doing this, I'll buy him a pint.

I don’t know if it’s not understanding the city or the fans as such but I don’t think he appreciates quite how detached most fans are with the negative slow side to side football that we see a lot of the time, are not used to it, and ultimately we won’t accept his philosophy if that’s the way it’s going to be. He’s being afforded time right now by fans in the stadium because of last season.
Most supporters including ours are proud of their town or city and club and want to see some fight for the shirt and passion when things aren’t going well, including on the touch line. I’m not sure Arne is really ever going to be that type of person, but at least try and instil it in more of the players.
It’s nothing to do with Arne but it’s been creeping more into the game that some of the players seem to be too matey with their opposite numbers, particularly if they’re from the same country or old club mates or have the same sponsors. It’s fine after the game but not during matches, particularly when we’re losing.
