Sorry to ask about financials. But with how much we invested in the summer, are the talks of new signings a bit immature. If we stick with slot to the summer, i would think we'll be out of Europe, which is a loss of income. Would it be difficult to invest into the squad without more sales?

The net spend over the last 4 transfer windows is about £160m. If we need to spend, we can spend. They had a finance expert on TV the other day explaining how we’ll run we’ve been and that we can go big again if needed. A lot of the sales were pure profit too as they were academy players, or players we’d fully paid off.

AAR91, I think you are deluded if you can't see the need for at least 1 CB. Konate is nowhere near good enough, Gomez is probably even worse than him, Leoni has an ACL injury that he may never fully recover from at his age, and Virgil is 34 years old. That makes at least 1 and maybe even 2 of Ordonez, Guehi and Bastoni necessities.
Semenyo is also a necessity as it's clear we did not replace Diaz adequately and lack a winger who is aggressive and direct.
The team is lacking balance and the tactics aren't working either which is a very bad mix.

Semenyo too! Bloody hell so what's that two center backs, a 'six' and now a winger. Makes you wonder how we won the league at all last season.
Between three and four hundred million spent in the summer, and now what another two hundred 'needed' in January? Just seems a bit much to me.

I would suggest that a player in midfield who is confident hitting the killer ball through the lines or in behind like Trent could is what we miss more than a direct winger, Isak and Ekitike were trying to get in behind the defense against Forest on several occasions but our midfielders either fluffed their lines passing it to them or just chose a safer option instead.
If we had a bonafide passer next to Grav we could progress the ball carrying through the press (Grav) or hitting a runner early, it would completely change the way the opposition sets up against us off the ball.
