Ed1… I understand that you have frustrations about Slots reluctance to use a more defensive minded midfielder, would Emerson be a change in his stance? I’ve only watched him in the Champions League and he does look quality.

However, he is not the final decision maker when it comes to transfers, so it is possible Hughes has decided to over rule him, as he must see the desperate need for that profile of mid. Believe I seen something about him having not long left on contract so price would be significantly lower than previously quoted. May have something to do with it.

Didn’t Hughes bring in Tyler Adam’s for Bournemouth Ed?
Maybe he understands the need for physicality in this league. Having played in it himself.
Adam’s is the exact kind of profile we need. Obviously just levels below the standard we would need, but he’s tenacious. Fantastic work rate, covers allot of ground, aggressive, tackles hard and well and decent technically. Hopefully Hughes is seeing the need for someone like that.
The constant links to Adam Wharton though, as good as he is, don’t really fill me with to much excitement. Brilliant young midfielder but he needs a good foundation behind him. Ederson or Baleba etc.
to many technical midfielders and not enough who want to do the dirty work and protect the defence with their life!

I think the Ederson interest might be there as Atalanta may consider a lower fee because he’s not interested in renewing his contract.

If I remember right Viktor he's a player you personally have wanted for a long time. Would be a good addition, definitely lacking his type in our midfield.
