Hi all!
According to BayernSpace, Bayern Munich was informed that Liverpool contacted Julian Nagelsmann's agent about his potential availability post-2026 World Cup. Nagelsmann won't leave Germany before then, but an early exit is possible for a big club. Jurgen Klopp is reportedly advising Liverpool on this, and could succeed Nagelsmann nationally.

I saw this. He was spot on with the Florian Wirtz stuff.

I'd rather we go for Flick if we can convince him.

Please god no.

Egocentric managers do not go over well in L4.
He was not under consideration pre Slot, and i doubt very much that this has changed.

Why would Bayern Munich be informed of our approach for Nagelsmann though?

As much as I'm not a fan of Bagels man or sacking managers. Bayernspace were definitely all over Wirtz and stood firm on their belief that he wouldn't join Bayern even though Bayern were releasing stories to the press that a deal was pretty much done.
I think they upset Wirtz's parents from what I remember. SourKraut on here also back the story as he/ she had link to the Wirtz family.
Personally I would love to turn it around but like many have said, including the Eds, he's not learning or changing things back to what worked. eventually something will have to give.

Exactly Drac. Why would it be of any business of Bayern? Didn’t they bin him off?
26 Nov 2025 10:21:21
@Drac I think it was probably just his agent trying to get Bayern interested in giving him another go.
Or because their official website thinks that he is still the manager!
"Julian Nagelsmann has been head coach at FC Bayern since the summer of 2021.".

Maybe Bayern didn't pay him off because of the compensation he would be owed. They may still pay him a monthly wage so technically he is still contracted to them.

It was widely reported at the time that Nagelsmann would stay on the Bayern Munich Payroll until he found a new club. He's still picking up an annual salary from Bayern, because they don't want to pay him off, and Bayern also agreed to release him to the DFB National side, as they couldn't afford to buy out his contract either.
No settlement was ever reached. So this rumour actually makes perfect sense as Nagelsmann would need to be bought out of his Bayern deal to take a new club role.

I'm not totally sold on Nagelsmann, but think he would be an interesting appointment. I do like the idea of Hurzeler.
Truth is, I really like Slot, and it seemed last season like his tactics were very adaptable given the opponent (I was particularly impressed with the decision to use a 4-2-2-2 against City) . My hope is that he regains that mindset and turns it around. I'm not sure how hopeful I am of that right now though.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
