Interesting hearing Slot talking about wanting to add pace to the team, exactly what we are missing. Yet doesn’t seem to be thinking of playing the game quicker as an alternative to not really having any real pacy players. Quicker passing, pressing etc.
Mentions PSG again, I know there’s some rhetoric of him wanting to emulate the PSG team. But currently we are the antithesis of that. I think if he had the choice to pick, he would want Barcola. Who while a decent player, is another physically weak addition to our already weak midfield. Although I’d take anyone over Rodrygo, which seems to be kicking up once again.

Only one position we need to upgrade and that's the manager.

I don't think pace is the issue, it's fitness and hunger. We miss Diaz and his drive, even late in games when 2-0 up, he'd still bust a gut to get back and put a tackle in. Players look tired and lethargic after 75 minutes. From what some ITK's and Ed001 has said, the focus in training has switched somewhat, less aggression and pressing, more control.

I agree that his tactics are the literal antimatter of fast direct football. Hopefully he trys to change that. But I disagree that we don't have pacey players, Dom is extraordinarily quick, top 10 or thereabouts. Frimpong is a little speed demon, Wirtz not quite so fast but pretty quick over short distances. Isak and Ekitike are by no means slow, especially for their size and both are good at timing their runs which can give them that extra yard advantage.
Grav and Gakpo are quicker than they look. Whilst saying all that I do understand where you're coming from, with Mo not having the pace he used to and Darwin and Diaz being sold we are lacking in the type of pacey forward who can really cause nightmares for defenders. But to be honest, technically speaking you don't need to be lighting quick to play fast paced football. that's ALL down to Succuslots dreaded tactics.

I would agree with that mate. I would challenge anyone to watch another PL game to see if they can find a team as pedestrian as us and also a lack of understanding of formation. Look how other teams set up when they lose the ball and how all over the show we are. One pass from the opposing team can take our midfield out.
That for me is basic training ground stuff.
We are PL champions yet we play like a team from 20 years ago as the also rans, now hoping for other teams to make mistakes so we can try and catch up .
Anyway, we are bound to beat Wolves ??.

City played this same style for most of their best years under Pep. Difference was they had Sterling, Sane that could add the pace and penetration that were lacking.
