I've seen a few ITKs on Twitter saying the same, we're allegedly pressing pause on Semenyo and targeting Barcola (and others, Nico Williams name is getting thrown around as well) in January. Seems a bit strange to me seeing as we'd likely have to clear space in the Premier League squad to play Barcola, whereas Semenyo counts as homegrown.

I think Barcola is going to be one of the best wingers in the world in the next couple of years. Remember the lad is still very young and is posting good numbers all be it in Ligue 1.

The only reason you would opt for Barcola over Semenyo is fee. Semenyo was signed by Hughes who knows his quality, is home grown, premier league proven and fits our style of play and system. Barcola could potentially have a higher ceiling but that’s potential and he could also flop in the premier league.

Nico Williams has shown no interest in leaving Bilbao and apparently would only leave them for Madrid, and if anyone thinks PSG are selling Barcola they’re living in cloud cuckoo land.

I know, we have no physicality whatsoever, so let's go after more players who don't want to track back and have no Prem experience at all.
They will take an age to adapt and we will have a team full of skillful players but no dog at all.
