Wasn’t we told earlier in season that slot didn’t want to keep salah and Virgil for this season? Now all of a sudden salah speaks out about stuff, whilst technically being forced out of the club. Is Virgil next? Because I sure feels like it will be. Benching salah is fine, obviously out of form. but continuing to play others like Gakpo, mcallister and konate takes the absolute Michael.
Half the problem with all their form are the tactics and training. Feel some are being very harsh on a club great on here, manger needs to go and has done for weeks, the football he is trying to play is the most boring slow football I have witnessed for a very long time. Moaning because salah doesn’t drop back, but wasn’t he told by slot to stay further up field.

Apparently Slot was overruled on Diaz sale. If true hands tied now with only Gakpo and a 17 yr old for the left. McCallister was also benched against Leeds and there's no one any better than Konate to replace him (although now i just don't care and Gomez, who is even worse has to come in against Inter) .
{Ed001's Note - he has Chiesa who can play on the left, as can Szobo and Ekitike, hardly having his hands tied, just too stubborn and pigheaded to use the players at his disposal. Macca was not benched, he was rotated as he was last season in spells like this.}

@Florian, I don't think Gomez is worse than Konate. Not on cuirrent form. If I was manager, I would have benched Konate a long time ago just to protect him. Now even if Leoni was fit, would he even get games ahead of a calamitous Konate with the way Slot is going? Im starting to doubt that.
Again, the fact that Slot doesn't fancy Gomez at all suddenly does not make Konate inevitable. It's just Slot's opinion about players that another manager can come in and literally disprove.

Gomez deserves a go. Heck, I'd even put Endo at CB for a game.
I honestly don't think Gomez or Endo could do much worse than Konate right now. I think at the very least they'd both have more passion and drive than Konate on current form.

Gomez is worse than Konate though Oli. If Leoni was fit he'd be playing ahead of the two of them. Maybe Salah was just rotated and then we won at West Ham?

Florian, we can disagree and that is okay. All I know is that if a player is this crap, it should not matter if he is better than his direct competition. Konate should be benched just so he can take some time off to clean out his head. It's all part of player management.
