All this talk of Salah being shown the door is ridiculous. It's Slot that should be shown the door. In fact he should of been shown it Saturday night. It looks to me as Slot is a Hughes and Edwards man they're sacrificing Salah to save their own skins.

Using the money from a Salah sale in January to save the season and more importantly to them their own skins. Salah or Slot it's no contest. I'd chose Salah everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

Money from a Salah sale? How much you expecting to get?

Along with a fee it frees up £400,000 plus a week.

Salah determines his own career path, not Slot, not Hughes, not Edwards.

If Salah wants to stay, he’ll see his contract out.
If Salah wants to leave, he’ll leave.

Clubs have zero power, it’s been this way for 30 years.

Well if anything else was required for anyone to lose faith in Slot, just read ED01s report on the game v Leeds. That's a sobering read. I'm siding with the opinion that it's not all on Slot or Salah. There's something deeper and I'm unsure if just a change in manager is the real fix overall.

Slot must depart for sure but I don't like what I am reading about H&E involvement. There's division within the club. That's a hard thing to fix.

Salah is still the golden goose of Saudi football. We wouldn't get silly money but I think that it would be a decent chunk (£50m+) .

Salah is the most famous Muslim footballer. About 50m is right.

If what Ed1 says is correct and the club are trying to sell Salah but he wants to stay why would Salah then actively run to the press and sign his own death warrant? It makes no sense.

By doing that all he’s done is made it easier for the club to sell him. You could even say he’s given the club no option but to sell him.

That does not sound like the actions of a man who’s desperate to stay.

{Ed001's Note - how has he made it easier? And what makes you think that he thought it would make it easier?}

Exactly, @Shanklys ghost. Salah being benched is the chum in the water people esp. those in the media are feeding on cos it gets clicks esp. when piling on a club legend and assassinating his character as being "all about himself" which is patently false, btw. Being driven does not mean you are selfish and have an overblown ego esp. if you can put your medals on the table (shout out to Souness, btw) .

Salah is speaking about an agenda being run against him at the top of the club by talking about how suddenly, the club want him gone to raise funds. Wait, what? Why didn't they just let him go for free or sell him after 23/ 24 when many (myself included) thought he may have lost a step? The club turned down a 150m pound deal from the Saudis in summer of 2023 so clearly, could have sold him if it was about the money, right? But now, it's about raising funds? Get out of here.

This is why he is being benched, not due to poor performances cos even when he is benched do we win overall? 2 games, maybe. Do others play better overall? No. Does Slot coach better? No. Does his system work? No. They created this toxicity. Not Mo, IMO.

Hi Edd 001

I have to ask why you are so protective of Salah?
I too think he has been world class since he has been a red. But his form has been awful he does not deserve a place in the team
He should not have spoken out the way he did.

But the facts are he's been a shadow of the player last year.

{Ed001's Note - I am not being protective of him, I am giving the other side of the story because otherwise all you have are a-holes like Carra doing hit pieces, even though they did far worse. To have Rooney criticise him, a man who dumped his childhood club the moment the Mancs waved a bunch of notes under his nose and then threw his toys out of the pram and put in a written transfer request when his nose was out of joint, is just laughable. It is irrelevant whether he has played poorly, the entire team apart from Dom has been abysmal. The point is that he deserves to be treated with respect, as he has always shown the club respect. He has never tried to force a move, turned down hundreds of millions to go to Arabia on more than one occasion because of his desire to stay with us. The club has treated him shabbily.

I also don't like that he spoke out and have said so, but I truly believe he didn't feel like he had an option. This should have been resolved behind closed doors but the manager has proven utterly incapable of dealing with the problem.}
